L’Ardente: Reviews & Ratings
Had the most amazing experience here last night. The lasagna is an absolute MUST! So much flavor. The arancini was very delicious too as well as the carbonara pasta and cacio e pepe. The tiramisu flambé was a great way to end our dinner along with the vanilla soft serve. Serge was a fantastic server and Robin was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend L'Ardente. I will be back next time I am in DC.
The food and service at this restaurant were absolutely outstanding. The flavors of the dishes were impeccable, and the presentation was elegant. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. However, I found the lighting to be quite dim, which made it a bit challenging to see the menu and enjoy the ambiance. Despite this, the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. I particularly enjoyed the duck Hunt ravioli, which was a delightful combination of textures and flavors. The combination of excellent service and delicious food made for a memorable evening. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a top-notch Italian dining experience.
We had a lovely anniversary dinner at L’Ardente. We started off with the oysters, caesar salad and gamberi, and they were all delicious. We also tried the grilled octopus and sun-dried tomatoes and olives complimented it so well. For the main we did the linguine and of course the 40-layer lasagna. Our server, Ezra, was amazing and so attentive throughout the night. The restaurant was definitely packed when we arrived for our 7:45pm reservation, but by around 8:30/9 the dining room started to clear out and the atmosphere felt much cozier. We enjoyed a glass of Chianti, so we didn’t get to explore the cocktails this time, and we weren’t able to try the Duck Hunt.. but that just gives us another reason to come back. Absolutely enjoyed it and would definitely return to try more from the menu!
I came some time ago, so the dessert photo I posted may be swapped with something else. It was some flavored cake. Presentation was beautiful, I didn't want to cut into it! Flavors were absolutely delicious. I'd come here again just for the dessert - so colorful, fun, and unique! It really makes you wonder how they make it because when you cut into it, you see the various layers that when combined, make an amazing bite. It was a great way to end the night. For dinner, I ordered the 40 layer lasagna, which was filling. I'd get it again, but there are many items that looked as good I may try. For appetitizers, we got arinchini which were delicious as well. Overall, great dinner with a beautiful ambiance.
I don’t know why I waited 3 years to check this place out. It has easily taken the place of “favorite restaurant in DC” for me. We were greeted with smiles and got our coats checked. For food we ordered the duck hunt, an absolutely delicious first course. Next we got their burrata salad and their famous lasagna, both were great. Of course for the dessert we got their show-stopper tiramisu, which was the perfect ending. Highly recommend stopping by for a meal at this restaurant if in DC.
Everything we ordered was excellent. The Duck Hunt was outstanding. The truffle added a deep, earthy richness that elevated the dish without overpowering it. The arancini was perfectly crisp on the outside, moist and cheesy on the inside, with a spicy sauce that tied everything together beautifully. We also really enjoyed the lasagna, which was comforting and delicious. The polpo was incredibly tender, and the olives in the sauce helped cut through the richness, keeping the dish well balanced and not too heavy. Definitely looking forward to coming back to try more dishes.
L’Ardente absolutely delivered from start to finish. Every bite felt intentional, crave worthy, and worth the hype. The Caesar salad was next level, perfectly dressed with that ideal balance of bright, savory, and creamy, plus the kind of crunch that makes you keep going back for one more forkful. The grilled veggies with ginger were a standout too, beautifully charred, vibrant, and elevated by that ginger note that gave everything a fresh little spark. And the 40 layer lasagna, wow. Rich, comforting, and unbelievably silky, with layers that somehow feel both indulgent and refined. It is the kind of dish you will be thinking about the next day. What really made the night feel special though was the service. Robin, the customer relations manager, was genuinely amazing, kind, and thoughtful. She checked on us and made sure everything was perfect without ever feeling intrusive. Ezra, our server, was just as wonderful. She was attentive, checked on us throughout the meal, gave great recommendations, and kept the whole experience feeling easy and taken care of. Fantastic food, fantastic people, fantastic experience. I would absolutely recommend L’Ardente and cannot wait to go back.
I feel like giving 5 stars in all categories is rare, but this place truly exceeded expectations. To begin, we had a 7:45 reservation and despite there being a wait to be seated, the staff was SO accommodating and responsive. They provided a free appetizer due to the wait, a real class act. We got the aranci, the duck hunt, the octopus, the carbonara, and the lasagna. The aranci was crispy and flavorful with the chili sauce, a must get. Honestly, the duck hunt was a little overrated in my opinion, the portion is very small of the ravioli but delicious nonetheless. I love the presentation of the octopus, and it paired so well with the potatoes and olives and sauce. The carbonara I haven’t been able to stop thinking about. The lasagna was very light, despite being 40 layers. We ended with the tiramisu, loved the addition of pomegranate. The hostess and our waitor were amazing and made the experience worthwhile. I love trying Italian restaurants in DC, and this place has the atmosphere, food, and service that makes it a must try.
